Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Newt New Fantastic Beasts Images Highlight Actual Fantastic Beasts
J.K. Rowling’s magical world of wizards and the creatures that inhabit it has become quite the talk of the town as of late. With the release of the stage play and script book for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as well as an ongoing promotional campaign for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, fans of Rowling’s unique vision are once again being treated to new delightful worlds.
While not every Harry Potter fan has been pleased with the story of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the arrival of the Fantastic Beasts prequel might just prove to be a little more in line with what fans remember the world of Harry Potter to be. There will certainly be an abundance of new creatures to learn about and analyze, making it possible for Fantastic Beasts to build its own mythology without straying too far from what made fans love the Potterverse to begin with.
Warner Brothers has now decided to introduce some of these new characters (via EW), in order to give Potterheads more insight into exactly what sort of Fantastic Beasts will be making an appearance in the upcoming film. The new creatures are listed below along with their photos, so if you’ve come looking for Fantastic Beasts, you can rest assured that this is indeed the place to find them.

THE NIFFLER

Fantastic Beasts The Niffler New Fantastic Beasts Images Highlight Actual Fantastic Beasts

This little creature apparently has an insatiable urge to obtain anything and everything that glitters or sparkles. Any such items that it manages to gain possession of will be carefully stored away in the pouch on the creature’s belly. While the Niffler might closely resemble a platypus or a mole (or both)Fantastic Beasts visual effects supervisor Christian Manz explained that it was actually inspired by the honey badger. Said Manz: “One of the big inspirations was the honey badger. We saw some great footage of a honey badger raiding somebody’s house with a completely insatiable desire to find food and nothing would get in its way.”

BOWTRUCKLE

The Fantastic Beasts design team actually had their hands full with the Bowtruckle, having undergone 200 attempts to draw just the right creature. Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has at least four of the rooty looking fellows, which are reportedly very difficult to spot in a natural environment. “The Bowtruckle eats only insects, and is a sweet and intensely shy creature, but extremely loyal, and it can be very handy to have around when there are locks to pick.”

THUNDERBIRD

Fantastic Beasts Thunderbird New Fantastic Beasts Images Highlight Actual Fantastic Beasts

The Thunderbird’s native land is Arizona and it is precisely this destination that Scamander has in mind for one of the birds (which he named Frank) after rescuing it from traffickers in Egypt. The creature is also the symbol of one of the houses at the American wizarding school, IIvermorny.“The Thunderbird is a large, regal avian creature native to the arid climate of Arizona. Its head is similar to that of an eagle or, in the wizarding world, a Hippogriff. Its multiple powerful wings shimmer with cloud-and sun-like patterns and their flapping can create storms. Thunderbirds can also sense danger.”

SWOOPING EVIL

Fantastic Beasts Swooping Evil New Fantastic Beasts Images Highlight Actual Fantastic Beasts

Looks like a cross between a reptile and an extremely large butterfly, when at rest, the Swooping Evil lives in a green spiny cocoon.  But when it spreads its colorful, spiked wings, it is strangely beautiful.  It can be dangerous, as it is capable of sucking out brains, but, conversely, if properly diluted, its venom can be quite useful to erase bad memories.”

DEMIGUISE

This bizarre looking fellow is: “a primate-like creature that resembles a silver-haired orangutan with large, doleful black eyes. It has the remarkable ability to become invisible at will, and has precognitive sight, so the only way to catch it is to do something completely unpredictable. The Demiguise is fundamentally a peaceful beast, but it will give a rather nasty nip when provoked or feels threatened. Unfortunately for the Demiguise, its long, silky, silvery hair can be spun into Invisibility Cloaks, making its pelt highly valuable.”

OCCAMY

Fantastic Beasts Occamy New Fantastic Beasts Images Highlight Actual Fantastic Beasts
“The Occamy is a plumed, two-legged, winged creature with a serpentine body, making it look like a cross between a dragon and a bird. It is hatched from eggs, the shells of which are made of the purest silver and worth a fortune. The Occamy is native to the Far East and India, and the size of its habitat matters a great deal, as the Occamy is choranaptyxic — meaning it will grow or shrink to fit available space.”
Fans can rest assured that each and every one of these magical creatures will unleash its very own special charms and consequences on the world that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will explore. At present time, the possibilities for these creatures seem limitless. It is indeed an exciting time for Harry Potter fans, especially as J.K. Rowling’s latest creations are preparing to come to life once again – perhaps even larger and more fantastic than ever before

13 dogs whose owners

13 dogs whose owners thought they raised furious guards but were wrong

There are a large number of reasons why people decide to get a dog. Many people find that dogs help them combat loneliness, while other people expect their furry friends to defend their territory or entertain their kids.
We at Bright Side have gathered photos of some of the best guard dogs ever — at least their owners think so.

From an early age, puppies are trained to scare away intruders.

This is why they get so serious when they grow up.

...

Even if the warning sign is bigger than the dog, he’s not to be trifled with.

Don’t get too close, please.

And don’t forget to look down

Every watchdog dreams of being like this hound.

This yard is so strictly watched that even a single mouse won’t slip past unobserved

Just look how fierce this Retriever can be

He is not afraid to fight with anyone

Caution! This dog may lick you to death

This guard won’t leave his post, no matter what.

RED WINE HOT CHOCOLATE

You eat chocolate with wine, so why not put chocolate in wine.

I don’t know.  It seemed like a good idea to me.  But holy smokes it was RICH.  I never understand when someone says a chocolatey dessert (i.e. fudge) is too rich.  TOO rich? How can something be TOO rich?  It’s like saying something is TOO delicious.  But this drink is rich and more fit for sipping out of a small glass than gulping from a mug.

Next time I may add some cinnamon sticks to really kick up the spicy, holiday flavors.
All holiday celebrations should involve a burning fire place and mulled wine.  Those are my thoughts.  We don’t have a fireplace in our house…soooo mulled wine is my only choice.  I mean, if you want your house to smell like the best thing ever, mulled wine is the way to go.  I recently tried glogg.  So holiday.  A mug of holiday cheer (i.e. like chai tea…but with booze.)

’ve had total recipe writers block lately.
This red wine hot chocolate was taking up so much space in my head that I felt like I couldn’t think of any new recipes until I made this one.  The whole recipe writers block came at a good time because the weather last week was so rainy and gross that I couldn’t have taken any food photos.  And when it wasn’t raining, it was getting dark at 4:55 pm.  I don’t like you, Daylights Savings Time.  But then I do like you because otherwise it’s impossible to get out of bed in the morning.  It’s a love-hate relationship, like so many other things in my life (i.e. burpees). Has anyone ever done the burpee mile? I kinda want to train for one.

So yesterday Andrew and I went to his parent’s house for lunch.  His mom made braised short ribs + buttermilk mashed potatoes.  His dad made sauteed kale with garlic + bacon.  If you walked into their house (and into a meal) you would ask yourself, “is this real life? or is this a Southern Living magazine photo shoot?”  It’s always fabulous and so so delicious.  I have so much to learn about being a hostess.  I have started a “party ideas” pinterest board to aid in the effort.
While preparing for holiday celebrations, know that this drink could fit merrily onto your party menu.  Ya know, cause everybody likes chocolate.  And wine.

  1. 1 1/2 cup milk (I used 2%)
  2. 1 cup red wine (I used Kendall-Jackson Cabernet Sauvignon)
  3. 1/3 cup dark chocolate chunks
  4. Optional: coconut whipped cream
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and chocolate chips. Whisking constantly until chocolate is melted into milk and you have a thick and creamy chocolate milk. Pour in red wine and heat until everything is hot. Pour into 2 mugs or 6-8 smaller glasses and top with coconut whipped cream.

    1. This drink is RICH. So instead of just serving 2 (as shown in the pictures), I would recommended serving 6-8 in smaller glasses for sipping.

    20 Super Seductive Women

20 Super Seductive Women as Depicted in the Paintings of a Talented Russian Artist

The elegant oil paintings of Sergei Marshennikov capture the full beauty of the female form. The women who appear on his canvases are not only achingly beautiful and seductive but also gentle and even ethereal, like the goddess Aphrodite emerging from the foam of the sea.

Every man who sees these images cannot help but feel the urge to protect and embrace these heavenly creations.

This is what an artist’s muse really looks like!

Marshennikov often depicts women asleep. One almost gets the sense that they’ll wake up at any moment to offer a kiss.

Each model appears somehow tranquil yet defenseless.

Only an artist could truly comprehend what’s hidden inside a woman’s heart. Each image from this talented artist is an ode to feminity and sexuality.
