President-elect Donald Trump's family consists of real estate moguls, entertainment personalities, business magnates and politicians. The father of five (by three marriages) and grandfather of eight is best known as a business leader and former host of NBC's The Apprentice and The Celebrity Apprentice. Donald shares three children with his ex-wife Ivana Trump: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric, all of whom played major roles in his 2016 presidential campaign. The three eldest offspring serve as the executive vice presidents at the Trump Organization, a New York–based conglomerate of Donald's many business ventures. The future first lady played a controversial role in her husband's presidential campaign. In July 2016, she sparked plagiarism claims when she gave a now-infamous speech at the Republican National Convention that contained a paragraph that was nearly identical to one from Michelle Obama's 2008 Democratic National Convention address. She has stated that fighting cyberbullying will be a priority for her as FLOTUS, despite Donald's controversial, and often offensive, Twitter posts.

Actress and model Maples had an affair with Donald while he was still married to first wife Ivana. In October 1993, two months before they tied the knot at the Plaza Hotel in New York, the couple welcomed daughter Tiffany. Maples and Donald split in 1997 and divorced in 1999. Maples reemerged in the spotlight in 2016 as she competed on season 22 ofDancing With the Stars with partner Tony Dovolani before finishing in 10th place.

Donald's older sister Maryanne Trump Barry is a senior judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. President Bill Clinton nominated Maryanne, a Republican, in June 1999. Five years later, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor presented the judge with a Seton Hall University School of Law award given to women who excel in public service.

Donald and Maryanne are two of five children born to the late Fred and Mary Trump. Their other siblings are Fred Jr., Elizabeth and Robert; Fred Jr. died of alcoholism in 1981. Like Donald, Fred Sr. was a real estate mogul prior to his June 1999 death.
